Simple Boxing Combinations That Can Easily Startle Your Opponent!

I'm going to give you a few basic boxing combinations but a majority of your favorite combinations will come from ones you've thought up. The key to thinking up a great combination comes from your understanding of how your body's weight and balance shift as you throw punches, what would be the proper punch to throw to compensate for that weight shift and what would punch would your opponent most likely throw during this.

The right combination will not only distract and startle your opponent, it will also protect you from counter punches that he/she throws. I've said this before and this is the perfect opportunity to restate it:

Every punch you throw leaves you open for a counter shot!

This is boxing, not punching, so you don't want to be all marked and bruised up, you want to stay pretty! So, after throwing each punch in the combination, bring your hands back to their starting position so you will be covered up if your opponent decides to throw a punch in the middle of your combo.

When first throwing these combinations, throw them slow and focus on form and technique (using the tips I provided in the previous posts). The more and more you throw these punches slowly and properly, the quicker the muscle memory will build up and you will be able to throw these combos quicker and more effectively.

Remember: Force= Mass x Acceleration. So the faster you throw the punch, the greater the force, force=power!

I tell a lot of the new fighters who come into the gym to think of combinations as if they are salsa dancing and/or as one of those inflatable punching bags you had as a kid. I say salsa dancing because in order to throw the punches quickly and effectively, you have to keep your hips nice and loose and let them move freely. I mention those inflatable punching bags because if you remember, whenever you'd punch it, it would spring right back. You have to do the same with boxing, if you rock back, comeback quickly with a punch. If you sway left, come back to center with a quick punch and so-on.

Use this key for the punches:

Jab Cross(right) Hook (head) Left Uppercut Right Uppercut Hook (body)

Remember these punch numbers because this is what I will be using for now on!

1-1-2: Using the jab to advance you will quickly throw it out twice to hinder your opponents vision and then throw your powerful cross behind it. 1-(1)-2-3: You can either chose to throw the jab twice or once. After you throw the cross, you'll be in position, since your weight will be shifted to your left (southpaw fighters to the right), to throw the hook from there. 2-3-2: This punch combination has to be thrown very quickly and done when your opponent isn't expecting it. I like to throw it when I can tell he is either off balanced or is tired. Once again, focusing on balance and hip movement will add speed to this combination. 1-5-3-2: This Jab-Right Uppercut-Hook-Cross combo is a deadly combo to throw against an opponent who you notice is leaving his "chin out." That means that in his stance, his head is extended past his lead knee or foot, leaving his jaw vulnerable.

on some models.This prevents the blade from free spinning to a stop
when you let off the power.

When using your dewalt table saw make sure to keep the blade
guard attached in its proper location. Make sure to set the blade depth
the same as you would for the circular saw. If your using a rip fence
with you should have something to push the board or plank through
the last few inches of the cut. You do not want your hand or fingers
between the blade and rip fence, one slip could leave you with a
serious injury. Also, never substitute a grinding in place of a saw
blade on your dewalt table saw. Dust does settle inside the saw and
will catch on fire from the sparks of a grinding wheel. Use dewalt power
tools only for jobs they were designed for.

Street Fighter 4 Strategy - The Power of Small Tweaks to Your Game - Part 2

Both of today's tweaks have to do with throwing.  They apply both to 3s and Street Fighter 4 so all of you guys should be able to benefit from this.

I see a lot of Street Fighter 4 players whiffing throws when trying to tech.  Luckily for them, the penalty for whiffing throws in this game is not very high.  In 3rd Strike, it's very easy to lose half of your life or more whiffing a throw if you're playing against a character like Chun Li, Urien or Yun.  So because of this, they don't realize that it's a big deal to whiff throws.  Sure you probably won't get killed for it, but you can definitely get hit by a lot of damage.For example, if you whiff a throw against Balrog, he can D + MP xx MP Dash Straight xx Super.  Ryu could D + MK xx EX Fireball XX Ultra in the corner.  Ken can D + MK xx Fireball XX Super.  These are just a few examples of some majorly damaging combos that you could be setting yourself up for if you're not careful with your throws.

There is a solution though.  Instead of standing up to press LP + LK to throw, you can actually press LP + MK while holding Down-Back.  This is called an option select throw because what your character does is dependent on what your opponent did.  Timed properly, here are the possible outcomes for an option select throw:

If they try and throw, you'll tech and get out of it If they don't try and throw, you'll get a low jab

If you can make this a habit and stop whiffing throws, you will be decreasing the damage you take over the longrun which will lead to you winning more games simply because you had more life.

Using one finger to throw and tech throws

This is something I don't think I've seen a lot of people do aside from myself and I think it's paid off so far.  I throw and tech throws a little different from other people in that I only use one finger to press LP + LK.  Other players use their index and middle fingers, but I cross my index finger over my middle finger, raise my ring finger and pinky so that they don't hit the other buttons and then use only my middle figner to throw and tech.  I believe this is why a lot of players over the years have complained that they are teching my throws but for some reason it's not working.

I believe that when you throw with two fingers like most people, not only is there more room for error, but you aren't pressing the buttons together as fast a I am, therefore my throw comes out first.  The difference is a fraction of a second, but I believe it makes a difference.  This is all 100% speculation on my part, but it makes sense to me.  If you try my way of teching throws, see if you notice a difference in the number of throws you get off as well as tech.
